City of Greensboro Fire Department issued the following announcement on Dec. 18.

As we come to a close in the 2021 year, the command staff has recognized the hard work and dedication put forth by our GFD personnel. Achievement and success aren’t by accident and come with time and patience.

After a panel vote and much consideration, four deserving and humble personnel were selected for our yearly awards.

Firefighter of the Year: Firefighter Sterling Crosby

Engineer of the Year: Engineer Brandon Lucas

Officer of the Year: Chief Michael Page

Employee of the Year: Chief Alex Gossett

Though Chief Alex Gossett could not make it to the award ceremony, we still wanted to recognize him. His photos will be posted later!
