Work Schedule:  Monday – Friday 8 hours per day 

Hiring Salary Range:  $58,618 – $78,157  Full Salary Range:  $58,618 – $97,696 Annually

The City of Greensboro Parks and Recreation Department is a nationally accredited department and a four time gold medal award winner. We are seeking a talented and enthusiastic individual to serve as the Park Services Superintendent.

The Park Services Superintendent will deliver a comprehensive park management process through the direct or indirect supervision of all park maintenance, construction, heavy equipment operation, trails and greenways, work order management, and equipment maintenance staff. The individual in this position will plan, organize, assign, direct, prioritize, supervise, coordinate, review, and evaluate the work through four Park Managers and three Crew Supervisors. The Park Services section has 35 full-time employees and more than 50 seasonal and temporary employees.

The individual in this position will develop, monitor, and manage a $4.8 million budget. The incumbent will prepare and administer the budgets for regional parks and park support services, submit recommendations, and monitor expenditures. The incumbent will manage existing revenue streams as well as design and implement new revenue generating procedures. The Superintendent is responsible for the control of expenditures within the allocated operating budget as well as monitoring operations generating revenue such as event rentals.

The Park Services Superintendent will work strategically to recommend long range goals and objectives, will routinely implementing and addressing short term goals. The Superintendent will recommends fee schedules and revisions to rules and regulations as needed. The Superintendent also provides public relations and customer service to residents, groups, and visitors. The Superintendent is responsible for the assignment of duties, assessments, activities, operations, and programs related to the park construction and maintenance functions of the department.

This job is Exempt and is not subject to the overtime provisions of the Fair Labor Standards.
