City of Greensboro issued the following announcement on Sept. 19.
During its September 20 meeting, the Greensboro City Council amended a contract with Vines Architecture in the amount of $6.49M to complete the design development, construction documents, and construction administration for the Windsor Chavis Nocho Community Complex project. This project will combine all the best features of a library, recreation center, and park into one facility, combining all these services into a single community hub. Council also continues to support the Greensboro-Randolph Megasite Project by approving a change order for the Liberty Road Elevated Water Tank in the amount of $6.4M for professional and construction services. This will support extension of utility services to the megasite.
American Rescue Plan (ARPA) funds in the amount of $2.35M were approved to provide community, housing, food, health, employment, and economic resources and services critical to community members. $100,000 in ARPA funds was also approved to support the Interactive Resource Center’s integrated care program expansion.
In July, Greensboro voters approved $135M in General Obligation Bonds. Tonight, Council approved the sale and issuance not to exceed $83M in General Obligation Public Improvement Bonds. Also approved was the $30M for Housing, $14M for Firefighting facilities, $6M for Law Enforcement facilities and $20M for Parks and Recreation Bonds for Greensboro Science Center improvements.
