City of Greensboro issued the following announcement on Jan. 3.

Urban Loop Project Update from NCDOT!

Starting Friday, January 13, state transportation contractors will implement a new traffic pattern for northbound North Elm Street to access Interstate 840 (The Loop) in Greensboro. 

Northbound North Elm Street traffic coming from Pisgah Church Road will be able to use the new permanent loop ramp to access I-840 West.

This lane shift is a part of continuous construction underway to build the six-lane freeway from US 29 to North Elm Street in northern Greensboro.

Drivers should be cautious and prepare for the traffic pattern
