Creative Greensboro, the City of Greensboro’s office of Arts and Culture, announced on Apr. 15 that it is accepting new proposals from individuals and organizations interested in collaborating on future drama programs. The initiative, called Partners in Performing Arts (P.I.P.A.), aims to increase access to the city’s cultural resources as outlined in the Cultural Arts Master Plan.

The application window for priority consideration is open until Monday, May 11. Interested parties can learn more or apply by visiting www.creativegreensboro.com or by contacting Performing Arts Coordinator Todd Fisher at 336-373-2974 or Todd.Fisher@greensboro-nc.gov.

With P.I.P.A., Creative Greensboro will change all contract-based creative work into proposal-based partnership opportunities. This means performing arts companies can suggest a creative partnership to collaborate on a production or propose a show that fits into one of the department’s recurring season slots.

Individual artists are also encouraged to participate. They may propose a creative partnership as guest artists or designers for one of the department’s internal performance programs after each season is selected.

This new approach is designed to broaden participation and create more opportunities within Greensboro’s performing arts community.
