Greensboro Day School issued the following announcement on May 17.
TEEF grants are awarded each year based on earnings from the Teacher Enrichment Endowment Fund, founded and supported by the GDS Parents’ Association. This endowment started in 1982 and remains integral to the PA mission. Over the years, PA fundraisers and the accumulating investment funds have enabled the PA to give more than $215,000 to GDS faculty for continued personal and professional growth. TEEF represents the PA’s commitment to the faculty and the importance of investing in a community of dynamic, engaged, life-long learners at Greensboro Day School. Congratulations to this year’s TEEF Grant recipients:
- Brandon Bickham, Middle & Upper School Band Teacher, to attend the Percussive Arts Society International Convention
- Estelle Bowden, Upper & Middle School World Language Teacher, to attend Special Cohort Preparation of New Trainers for the Future
- Iraida Fung, Upper School World Language Teacher, to attend Centro Mundolengua in Madrid
- Shannon Kincaid, Lower School Counselor, to attend Online Yoga Teacher Training
- Gwen Lowe, Fourth Grade Teacher, to attend the Annual International Conference on ADHD
- Nathan Ross, Upper School Math Teacher, to attend the Forfar Field Station Teacher Workshop
- Marissa Sarver, Upper School World Language Teacher, to attend Madrelingua Italian Language School in Bologna
- Stephanie Sutter-Shoaf, Middle School English & Social Studies Teacher, to attend a Global Volunteers service program on the Blackfeet Reservation in Montana
- Michael Welter, Upper School Science Teacher, to attend the OpenSciEd Curriculum Launch
- Sonny Willis ’96, Middle & Upper School Choral Teacher, to work with the Young People’s Chorus of New York City
