Greensboro Day School issued the following announcement on Jan. 25.

Congratulations to senior swimmer Jack Reilly ‘22, whose time of 4:49.78 in the 500 free broke the 10-year-old school record previously held by Jonathan Rogers ’13.

The new school record caps a successful season for the AquaCats Swim Team, who are looking forward to upcoming conference championships and the state meet.

With their regular season now wrapped up, the girls are 15-3, and the boys are 11-5. The middle school team is 2-0 for both boys and girls.

The Conference Championship is February 1 at 1:15 p.m. at the GAC, and States are February 14 at the GAC. Sixteen GDS swimmers qualified for the upcoming state meet in 51 qualifying events. The exact schedule will be released soon. Go, Bengals!
