A 25-year-old man is scheduled to appear in court Wednesday on a second-degree murder charge following an investigation into a fatal shooting that took place in Greensboro. The Greensboro Police Department announced on April 14 that Kendal Isaiah Roberts was arrested in connection with the death of Bakari Aman Lee, who was shot and killed on Nov. 26, 2023, on River Oaks Drive.

Police said the Homicide Unit obtained a warrant for Roberts after conducting an investigation into the incident. Members of the department’s Violent Criminal Apprehension Team, working with the North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation, took Roberts into custody without incident on Tuesday.

Roberts is currently being held at Guilford County Jail without bond. Authorities have notified Lee’s next-of-kin about the arrest.

Court documents related to this case are available online through Guilford County eCourts at guilfordcountydistrictcourt.com/ecourts.

The arrest marks a significant development in the ongoing efforts by law enforcement to address violent crime cases within Greensboro.
