Greensboro Police Department issued the following announcement on Feb. 23.
We are still accepting brand new/never used blankets for our officers to hand out to those experiencing homelessness. You can drop off blankets at 100 E. Police Plaza.

Author Leigh Ann Henion will speak about her new book Night Magic at Greensboro Public Library on May 18. The event includes a discussion with an environmental educator and a guided firefly activity outdoors.
Greensboro Parks and Recreation will open a new gravel parking lot at Swan Song Trailhead on May 8. The lot offers space for twenty vehicles and was made possible by support from local organizations.
Greensboro has announced new street resurfacing projects taking place May 11-16 as part of its annual paving plan. Several roads will experience closures or lane changes during this period. Motorists are advised to check schedules online before traveling.
