A Greensboro man died after a single-car crash on Pisgah Church Road, police said April 13. Authorities identified the driver as Shaki M. Thornhill, age 34.
The incident marks the fifteenth traffic death in Greensboro this year, underscoring ongoing concerns about road safety in the city.
According to Greensboro Police, Fire, and Guilford County EMS, emergency crews responded at approximately 10:09 p.m. Sunday to the 100 block of Wesley Harris Circle for a reported crash with injuries. Investigators said Thornhill was driving a Honda Civic eastbound when he crossed left of center and left the roadway. The vehicle struck a fire hydrant, then a fence and tree before coming to rest.
Thornhill was transported by ambulance to a local hospital where he died from his injuries. Police confirmed that his family has been notified.
The Greensboro Police Department’s Crash Reconstruction Unit is continuing its investigation into the circumstances of the accident. No additional details were immediately available.
