The Guilford County Tax Department has rescheduled its Tax Reappraisal Educational Session to Tuesday, February 10, at 6 p.m. The event will take place at the NC Cooperative Extension – Guilford County Center, located at 3309 Burlington Road.
This session will cover how property taxes are assessed, ways to verify updated property values online, the process for appealing assessments, and information about exemptions available to elderly residents and veterans. County staff will also be present to provide individual consultations regarding eligibility for tax exemptions.
The educational meeting was initially set for January 27 but was postponed due to winter weather conditions.

In related education news, recent data from the North Carolina Department of Public Instruction shows that in the 2022-23 school year, 22.3% of senior students and 21.4% of junior students in Guilford County school districts were considered ready for college in science based on ACT scores. In reading, 30.8% of seniors and 28.2% of juniors met college readiness benchmarks. For math, 23.7% of seniors and 21.1% of juniors achieved college-ready scores according to the same report (https://www.dpi.nc.gov/).
