Greensboro, NC – Congresswoman Kathy Manning (NC-06) announced the winners of the 2023 North Carolina’s Sixth Congressional District Art Competition during a congratulatory reception. High school students from across the district submitted art pieces to be judged by a panel of local artists.
“Each year I am amazed by the talent and creativity of Sixth District students,” said Congresswoman Manning. “Artistry, imagination, and skill were showcased across all submissions. I look forward to seeing the winners’ artwork displayed in the United States Capitol and my congressional offices.”
This year’s reception was held at the Greensboro Cultural Center in the African American Atelier, a gallery space dedicated to encouraging and appreciating the arts and culture of artists of color.
The celebration was attended by the first, second, third place winners, honorable mentions, and their families, Congressional Art Competition judges, and local elected leaders. The winning artwork from NC-06 will be displayed for one year in the U.S. Capitol alongside pieces from all participating districts across the country.
