Town of Franklinville recently issued the following announcement.

The “most wonderful time of the year” is just around the corner, and the Town of Franklinville is in the planning process for the 2019 Franklinville Christmas Parade!  Last year’s parade was a success and our goal for this year’s parade is to be bigger and better!  To reach this goal, we need for our citizens, businesses, churches, and schools to participate in the parade on Saturday, December 7th at 10:30 am. The parade line-up begins at 10:00 on Academy St. in Franklinville near the Baptist Church. We would be thrilled to have decorated floats, cars, trucks, tractors, and walkers, characters, and children to ride down Main St. and share their Christmas spirit!  We simply ask that you decorate your transportation with Christmas decorations, and dress in Christmas apparel.  Please have a sign on your float, car, etc. with your business, church, school, club or organization name displayed.  This is a great way to promote your business, club, etc., and for the spectators to know who is participating in the parade!  All participants are encouraged, if they like, to bring individually wrapped candy to toss into the crowd along the parade route.

To help us with our preparations, please call Christie at the Franklinville Town Hall at 336-824-2604 or e-mail: franklinvillenc@triad.rr.com to add your name to our parade list by Friday, November 15th (no entrance fee required).  If you know of someone who should be a part of our parade, please share this information with them.  We hope to see our streets filled with family, friends and neighbors to view the parade, so please invite everyone you know to join us on Franklinville’s Main St. on December 7th!
