First Lutheran Church recently issued the following announcement.
Many questions are circulating about how and when to re-open the FLC buildings, and what's needed in order to gather again. As of right now, we are under guidelines from the NC Synod to remain as is, with worship online and the building closed through May 31. Both Governor Cooper and Bishop Smith will be passing along new guidelines and recommendations later in May. For now, here's what's going on: + The NC Synod is forming a task group to guide all NC ELCA churches in our re-opening efforts + Our FLC Council will discuss forming an FLC task group on this issue at their May 19 meeting + Pastor Jay is meeting with a group of local, large church Senior Pastors to share information and coordinate efforts + Other FLC Staff are attending meetings and webinars on how to gather again when the time comes in the future + Summer Day Camp, and all NC Synod camping activities have been cancelled through June 30 + For now, we await possible next steps and guidelines from the governor and the synod + The Council and Staff will keep you informed with weekly E-News articles
