Possible Symptoms: If student has any of these symptoms they should not be in school.

Fatigue
Muscle or body aches

New loss of taste or smell
Sore throat
Congestion or runny nose

Next Steps
o If student has symptoms or are exposed the are expected to isolate for 10 days.
o We share with parents a letter of how and where to get tested for COVID-19. If the parent chooses not to get them tested, they will have to be out of school for 14 days.
o We do not know a student is positive unless the parent notifies you or us.
GCS School Re-Entry FAQs
https://www.gcsnc.com/Page/77606
o Masks must be worn outside if students are within 6 feet of each other. My suggestion is to maybe let students do a 6 feet walk before entering the building so that they can have a mask break. (See page 8 of the FAQ document.)
o When students are eating lunch the must be 6ft apart while masks are off. This may require to let every other student eat while watching a lunch time approved video, then switch.
o Some desks or seats are too close in classrooms. Desks must be 3 feet apart nose to nose.
o If students refuse to wear masks properly, see page 9 of the FAQ document.
I hope this helps with understanding the process. Please let me know if you have ANY additional questions.
