As the weather begins to warm up and the population in Greensboro is starting to get outdoors more, people are taking note of the many new upgrades and additions to Greensboro public parks and other spaces. 

As announced by WGHP, "The weather is warming up, so pools will open soon, and parks will get more packed. There are a lot of new additions in the city of Greensboro to make your outdoor adventure more exciting."

The improvements were a part of a concerted effort by the Greensboro Parks & Recreation department. 

Jennifer Hance, who oversees that department, talked about the enhancements to the parks, saying, “We really wanted that pop of color that lets people know ‘hey, there is a park here. Come and experience it and see what’s happening.'"

With the new enhancements, comes a new range of activities that are available to residents. 

Hance also said, "Whether you’re fishing, biking or walking a trail this spring, you will notice something new. At Bald Eagle Trail on Hamburg Mill Road, new signage is up to help visitors navigate the trail."

Hance and her department are taking feedback from the community on the enhancements. Residents are encouraged to submit feedback until April 19th online. 

Though much has already been done, more improvements are coming, according to the department. 

WGHP said, "On May 14, people can expect a new intermediate Mountain Biking Trail at Keeley Park. There will be on-site equipment like helmets and bikes for people to give it a try."
