Greensboro Parks and Recreation issued the following announcement on May 20.
Join us to celebrate National Fishing and Boating week with our annual Children's Fishing Tournament at Lake Higgins. Registration begins May 1st.
Kids ages 6-12 will be catching catfish in the Taylor Turner Hatchery pond located next to the Lake Higgins Marina. This event is free and limited to the first 40 participants to register. Bait and poles will be provided. Trophies, prizes, and goodie bags will also be given out!
Check-in will begin at 9 am and the tournament will start at 10 am. Please plan to arrive and check-in by 9:45 am. This event is not a teaching event. Participants need to be familiar with using a fishing pole.
