Full Salary Range: $31,200.00 - $47,850.00 Annually
Hiring Range: $31,200.00 - $38,280.00 Annually
Work Schedule:
Monday – Thursday 7:30am – 5:00pm & Friday 7:30am – 11:30am
Primary Duties/Brief Description of Work:
This Maintenance Technician - Carpentry will work with a maintenance mechanic in performing repairs, renovations, installations, construction and preventive maintenance of mechanical and structural maintenance issues within City facilities. The successful applicant will be required to have some knowledge of buildings and repairs to the following items: roofs, walls, doors, windows, stairways, handrails, locks, bathroom partitions, ceiling tile, carpet and flooring, sheetrock, concrete steps and ramps, masonry, furniture, cabinets and countertops. This is an entry level maintenance position that requires supervision and works with the maintenance mechanics. This employee will need to have the knowledge and ability to use common hand tools used in building and equipment maintenance and should have the ability and knowledge to learn, understand and comply with all applicable building structural and industry materials and standards, local and state code, and Occupational Safety and Health Administration policies and procedures. The successful applicant will need the ability to read and understand blue prints and specifications. They should have the ability to operate a computer for their work orders. The physical duties of the job include bending, stooping, standing, walking, kneeling, climbing ladders, pushing, pulling, reaching and lifting up to 50 lbs.
The job is NON-EXEMPT under FLSA.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
- High School Diploma / GED with 1-3 years of carpentry construction experience
- Or No High School Diploma / GED with years 5-7 of carpentry construction experience
- Valid Driver's License
- Experience using Carpentry hand tools (i.e. power tools, drills, saws, air nailers,)
- Knowledge of other work disciplines i.e. Electrical, Plumbing, or HVAC
- Knowledge of computers, iPads and/or general office equipment
