On October 8, 2024, Manning expressed concern about the spread of online misinformation during emergencies. She stated that "Online misinformation is making it harder for emergency responders to assist Hurricane Helene victims. Get the facts and learn more about how to combat the spread of rumors ⬇️."

Later that day, she provided an update on her efforts to support communities affected by Hurricane Helene. In a tweet posted on October 8, 2024, she wrote: "Today, I joined @SBAIsabel and @CityofAsheville Mayor Manheimer to survey storm damage and meet with small business owners impacted by Hurricane Helene.
