Congresswoman Kathy Manning, who represents North Carolina’s 6th district, recently shared a series of updates on her official social media account. Manning, a member of the U.S. Congress since 2021, has been actively involved in various legislative and community initiatives.

On October 24, 2024, Manning addressed former President Donald Trump's stance on abortion laws. She stated: "Donald Trump said he was 'proud' to have overturned Roe v. Wade. Because of him, North Carolina is one of 21 states with a restrictive Trump abortion ban." Manning emphasized that House Democrats are committed to defending women's reproductive freedoms from what she describes as "right-wing attacks."

The following day, on October 25, 2024, she announced her participation in an event at Wake Forest Institute for Regenerative Medicine (WFIRM). She noted: "Yesterday, I joined the @WFIRMnews to celebrate a $48 million federal grant to research treatments for exposure to harmful chemicals." Manning expressed enthusiasm about Wake Forest University's role in advancing medical innovation.

Later that same day, Congresswoman Manning shared another development concerning federal funding for educational institutions. She declared: "Great news! I’m thrilled to announce $4.5 MILLION in federal funds for investments in research infrastructure at NC A&T." Highlighting her pride in representing North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University (NC A&T), she acknowledged its status as the largest historically Black university in the United States.
